don't miss

I ordered this book because i can't read enough on the suffering and courage that occured during the holocaust. This is a must read and holds the readers attention from beginning to end.

This is a view of the Holocaust from a Russian peasant instead of a Jew from Kiev. At the beginning of the story, the Jews of Kiev have already been killed along with the gays, the gypsies, and the mentally infirm. The Nazis have essentially run out of people to kill and have started on the Russian citizens. The ravine at Babi Yar contained several hundred thousand bodies that were later dug up and cremated by the Nazis in order to feed the newly built soap factory there.
I haven't read The Remnant, so I can't speak to another reviewer's accusation of cut and paste from the earlier book. However, I agree that this book was not proofread well. I find this to be true of many ebooks, and I chose to ignore the errors because the story was so amazing.

I live in Kiev...

After following the many book written about the holocaust, I found the place in Kiev where this occurred. This book allowed me a new understanding of the horrors and the hope that caused the people to have hang on.
